I will share with you all my journey of this city and will tell you my experience of this paradise of India, and will also tell how to travel to this city, where to wander in this beautiful city, where and what to eat and most an important question that everyone has in their minds– Is Chennai city is the costly city?

All these questions I will answer today in this blog today, will share my experience and give tips which will going to help you if you about travel this city to spend your vacations with your loved ones.

Chennai is the capital city of Tamil Nadu and has the maximum number of industries nation-wide which is the one perspective of this city from the business hub point of view, but if we look to this city from travelers and vacations points of view, so this city will not let you down your feelings.

This city is full of culture, adventure and historic places and most important beaches with lovely and friendly peoples.

How and from where I started my journey of this paradise of India- Chennai?

I started my journey from my hometown Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and took a train from Kanpur central to Chennai central.

Via train, it took around 2 full days to arrive in Chennai city, the reason behind the train traveling is that I want to have an experience of a train journey on the long route and literally the experience was phenomenal. I know it is a 2 full day journey but if you are traveling with your family and your loved ones then this 2 day will vanish like smoke and you will not even realize but if you do not want to spend 2 days then you can go for flights, it will take 3-4 hours to reach Chennai from Lucknow- Amausi Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport.

Where to stay?

After reaching Chennai, I booked stay for me and my family at a hotel situated at walltax road which situated adjacent to Chennai railways station.

The prices for decent hotel rooms range from 1000-5000 and my stay costs me 3000 as there are 2 family members also there. I can say the rooms are a bit costly but the services and amenities that the hotel provided to us are very good.

Where to roam or wander in this city?

Chennai is the main center of arts and culture. It is top known for its classical dance shows. A music carnival called the Madras Music Season which is presented by the Madras Music Academy is conducted every single year. This music term showcases the performances of traditional Carnatic music by numerous artists.

The Chennai Sangamam is an art festival which vitrines art and culture not only of Tamil Nadu but also from the neighboring states, as the Kalari from Kerala is a key fascination for all the tourists.

Chennai also has several temples, beaches, and centers of historical and cultural significance.

The places I visited is-

·       Dr. MGR Memorial Park.

·       The UNESCO Heritage site of Mahabalipuram.

·       Marina Beach - A 13 km long urban beach along the Bay of Bengal.

·       The Government Museum

·       The Chennai Rail Museum.

·       Ashtalaxmi Temple

·       Mylapore

How to travel in the city?

The best way that I found to wander in this beautiful city is-

·       Buses.

·       Other road vehicles.

·       MRTS System.

·       Metro Railway.

The best ways that I found to roam the city is metro and local MRTS buses because they are less costly and have almost connectivity to the whole city.

 What to eat?

Chennai has a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods, even though it is famous for the exclusive food culture and traditional range of food which is also called as the South Indian food.

Hot filtered coffee is the mark beverage of this capital city.

The breakfast of the city consists of Idli or Dosa with coconut chutney.

Lunch incorporates a range of food from steamed rice served with Sambar to mutton or chicken curry.

If You are typically north Indian style food lover, then Chennai city does not offer much in this food segment.

But still, there is an option which you can pick is AGARWAL BOJANLAYA and Shiva Sagar is located near wall tax road and offers pure vegetarian north Indian roti dal with a variety of north Indian sabzi’s.

But I found that food is a bit costly there because I got charged 1500 rupees for 4 peoples for a single meal.

Tips & Recommendations.

If you are supposed to travel this city, you will enjoy it but pocket will also get a bit loose because this city is a bit costly in terms of food and stay. So, book hotels online mode, you will get some awesome discounts.

Chennai is a city where always feels like there is summer hot. So, avoid packing of lots of clothes and woolen clothes because in Chennai you will find it of no use.

From the shopping perspective, Chennai is super inexpensive. Chennai local markets, as well as mall, offers very good and quality stuff at very cheap rates.

Overall, my journey of this city is wonderful, and I recommend you all to visit for once and you will be going to loved it.
